Moby
Dick is a great white bull sperm
whale invented by Herman
Melville, one of the greatest American writers of classic literature. In
this novel, Captain Ahab is obsessed with getting revenge on a giant white
whale that has taken one of his legs, leading to the destruction of his
ship, the Pequod,
and the death of himself and his crew, except for Ishmael,
who survives to tell the story. 
FISHING

animal.

abandoned fishing gear during their lives. There are almost as many deaths
from plastic waste like this as from whaling!
Herman
Melville is the author of Moby Dick, a story based on his real life
experience aboard a whaler, mixed with real event sinkings of ships by sperm
whales that fought back, such as the Essex in 1820, and Mocha Dick, a
giant whale that sank around 20 ships.
The
Essex was stove by a large sperm whale in 1820, made into a film in 2015: In
the Heart of the Sea, starring Chris Hemsworth.
